Derry is Northern Ireland’s second city and is a great place to visit for a weekend break, or to use as a base for a longer stay exploring the surrounding area.

The B&B is conveniently located only 2 minute walk from Derry's Walls which has to be the first stop on your visit. Build in 1600 the walls have never been breached despite numerous attempts including the Siege of 1689. These stories are well told in our new Siege Museum on Society Street and by talking one of the many walking tours.

Your wall around the walls will also take you to the Bogside area of the city where you can learn about the events of Bloody Sunday and the Civil Rights Movement. For more information just ask our owner Ursula who lived through these times.

Derry is also a perfect base to visit the numerous Game of Throne film locations, The Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the scenic hills of Donegal.

Millennium Forum Theatre & Conference Centre

If you’re visiting Derry for a show or a conference there’s a good bet that your stay will include a trip to the Millennium Forum. Tower Museum

A hop, skip and jump away from the Bridge B&B is Derry’s award-winning Tower Museum which has two permanent exhibits (“The Story or Derry” and “An Armada Shipwreck – La Trinidad Valencera”) that use both display and interactive exhibits to present these two fascinating areas of Derry’s history. Museum of Free Derry

The Museum was established by the Bloody Sunday Trust to tell the story of the civil rights movement and the creation of Free Derry in the 1960s and 1970s. In 2017 the museum reopened in the Bogside following extensive renovations.

Siege Heroes Museum

The new Siege Museum and Exhibition is a permanent display of the history of the Siege of Londonderry and of the Associated Clubs of the Apprentice Boys of Derry, including artefacts, video and interactive media. Visitors on group bookings or guided tours will also have the added attraction of being able to view one of the finest collections of meeting rooms used by the 'Loyal Orders'.

Derry's Walls

A walk around the walls in Derry~Londonderry reveals a splendid city crammed full of history, heritage, interest and a vibrant cultural scene.

This is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland and one of the finest examples of Walled Cities in Europe. The Walls were built during the period 1613-1618 by the honourable, the Irish Society as defences for early seventeenth century settlers from England and Scotland.

The Walls, which are approximately 1.5km in circumference, form a walkway around the inner city and provide a unique promenade to view the layout of the original town which still preserves its Renaissance Style street plan to this day.
